Anti-Corruption Bureau raid on Karnataka PWD junior engineer Money spills out from pipe

A team of ACB sleuths headed by using Mahesh Meghannanavar, Superintendent of Police (North-Eastern Range of ACB), raided the residence of Shanthagouda Biradar [Junior Engineer attached to the Jewargi Sub-Division of PWD] at Gubbi Colony at approximately 7 a.M. On Wednesday and located many assets files and cash.

The ACB officers, who had correct facts approximately the spot in the residence in which the unaccounted for money become stashed, summoned a plumber and were given a PVC pipe installed for drainage reduce and recovered round ₹thirteen lakh in coins hidden within the pipe. They also observed cash in different spots in the residence, such as a metal almirah and wardrobe inside the bed room. It became learnt that the total coins located within the house came to cover ₹40 lakh.

The property files observed in the house indicated that the PWD officer owned homes at Gubbi Colony and Badepur region in Kalaburagi,  residential plots at Brahmapur and  different plots at Kotanur D Extension, forty acres of farmland, which includes 14 acres at the outskirts of Hangaraga in Yadrami taluk and 6 acres off Yalgod Road and two farmhouses. As per resources inside the ACB, the fee of the assets is yet to be ascertained. “We have raided three assets belonging to Shanthagouda Biradar. As we suspected that he had a huge quantity of unaccounted for cash and assets that is disproportionate to the recognised resources of his income, we involved ACB officers from Bidar and Yadgir as properly,” Mr. Meghannanavar instructed presspersons.

Mr. Biradar started his profession as a Junior Engineer on a brief foundation within the Engineering Department of Kalaburagi Zilla Panchayat in 1992.
