New Delhi - The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has raised allegations of severe water wastage in the Sriniwaspuri Ward of the Kalkaji constituency, amid an acute water shortage in parts of Delhi.

Rajpal Singh, the BJP Councilor for the Sriniwaspuri Ward, highlighted the issue during a visit to Sarai Jullena’s multi-level parking facility. Singh pointed out that lakhs of gallons of clean water, which could be used for drinking, were being wasted on the 3rd floor of the parking facility.

“This is clean water which can be used for drinking,” Singh said. “I am standing at Sriniwaspuri Ward’s Sarai Jullena’s multi-level parking 3rd floor. Lakhs of gallon water flowing here…the Delhi Water Minister is unable to utilise this water.”

Singh further criticized the Delhi government, stating that “90% of their government is in jail and their 2-4 people outside are ignorant.” He expressed concern over the severe wastage of water, questioning how many families could have benefited from the wasted resource.

The BJP councilor’s allegations come at a time when parts of Delhi are grappling with a severe water shortage. The issue of water wastage has sparked a debate on the need for better water management in the city.

The Delhi Water Minister has yet to respond to the allegations. As the city continues to face water scarcity, the need for efficient water management has never been more critical.
