The BJP has criticized the INDIA bloc's rally at Jantar Mantar, with national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla accusing opposition leaders of prioritizing political support over addressing urgent social issues. Poonawalla’s comments came in response to the rally organized by the INDIA alliance, which has been vocal in its support of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal amid ongoing controversies.

On July 27, Delhi witnessed a tragic incident resulting in the deaths of three young individuals, an event that has since sparked significant public concern. Poonawalla expressed frustration that the INDIA bloc chose to hold a rally on July 30 in support of Kejriwal rather than focusing on seeking justice for the victims. "On 27th July, we lost three young individuals in an incident, and today on 30th July, rather than protesting to provide them justice, leaders of the INDIA alliance are protesting in support of Arvind Kejriwal," Poonawalla stated.

The rally at Jantar Mantar was organized by the INDIA alliance, which includes major opposition parties such as Congress and the Samajwadi Party. The rally was part of a broader show of support for Kejriwal, who has been facing political and legal challenges. The opposition has criticized the Delhi government’s handling of various issues, including the recent Old Rajinder Nagar incident, which has also been a point of contention in Parliament.

Poonawalla criticized the opposition for what he described as contradictory actions. "On one hand, the Opposition parties like Congress and Samajwadi Party are holding the AAP responsible for the Old Rajinder Nagar incident in the Parliament, and on the other hand, they (opposition parties) are protesting in support of Arvind Kejriwal," he said.

He also called into question the actions of Congress and the INDIA alliance leaders, suggesting that their priorities are skewed. "Will the leaders of Congress and the INDIA alliance ask the AAP for action against Mayor Shelly Oberoi and AAP MLA Durgesh Pathak?" Poonawalla challenged. "Their priority is not the people of the country but party interests."

The BJP’s critique highlights ongoing tensions between the ruling party and the opposition, particularly concerning their handling of various political and social issues. The INDIA bloc's rally and the subsequent BJP response reflect the polarized nature of current political discourse in India, with each side accusing the other of mismanagement and misplaced priorities.

As political activities continue, the focus will likely remain on both the immediate issues surrounding the tragic incident and the broader implications of the INDIA alliance’s actions. The BJP's comments are expected to fuel further debate and scrutiny of the opposition's stance and strategies.
