BJP Leader Gaurav Bhatia Criticizes Congress Over Karnataka Farmers' Crisis

BJP leader Gaurav Bhatia has launched a scathing attack on Congress and its leadership over the ongoing crisis faced by farmers in Karnataka. Addressing a press conference earlier today, Bhatia highlighted the tragic issue of farmer suicides in the state and criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his alleged inaction.

"1200 farmers have committed suicide in Karnataka," Bhatia stated, pointing out that these tragic deaths occurred despite promises made by Rahul Gandhi and the Congress government in Karnataka. "Their only fault was that they believed in the promises made by Rahul Gandhi and the Congress government. Has Rahul Gandhi expressed any concern about the death of 1200 farmers?"

Bhatia accused Gandhi of being absent in addressing the dire situation and questioned his whereabouts. He also demanded to know why no action has been taken against Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, who reportedly dismissed the concerns of farmers' families as false.

The BJP leader further criticized the Congress party’s track record, alleging that despite their manifesto promising substantial support for farmers, only two out of 59 major promises made by the Congress government have been fulfilled. "Where is Rahul Gandhi hiding? Why is he not meeting the farmers of Karnataka?" Bhatia asked.

In contrast, Bhatia highlighted the achievements of the current central government, stating that under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, Rs 3 lakh 25 thousand has been deposited into the bank accounts of farmers. He contrasted this with what he described as the Congress-led UPA government's failed promise of a Rs 50 thousand crore loan waiver, which he claimed was tainted by a scam.

The BJP's allegations come amidst ongoing debates about agricultural policies and the welfare of farmers. The Congress party has yet to respond directly to Bhatia’s accusations, but the issue is expected to remain a significant topic in the lead-up to upcoming state and national elections.

As the political and public discourse around farmer welfare continues to evolve, the spotlight remains on both the central and state governments to address the pressing concerns of Karnataka's agricultural sector and the broader implications for rural communities across India.
