Praveen Shankar Kapoor, a BJP leader, has initiated legal action against Atishi, a prominent leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), filing a defamation case in Delhi. Kapoor's move comes in response to alleged defamatory remarks made by Atishi, marking a significant development in the ongoing political discourse between the two parties.

"Today onwards, Atishi has joined the 'Jail and Bail' group of AAP leaders. Now, this will continue," stated Kapoor, expressing his stance on the legal proceedings. His remarks allude to a series of legal challenges faced by AAP leaders in recent times, referring to them as the 'Jail and Bail' group due to instances where leaders are arrested and subsequently granted bail.

Kapoor continued, suggesting that a resolution could have been reached amicably had Atishi chosen to apologize. "It would have been better if she had apologized and settled this issue," he remarked, indicating a preference for a conciliatory approach rather than legal confrontation.

Acknowledging Atishi's adherence to the judicial process, Kapoor noted her decision not to appeal the case in a higher court yet. "She wants to take some time. She has not yet appealed in any higher court challenging this case," he remarked, highlighting procedural aspects of the ongoing legal proceedings.

The next hearing in the defamation case is scheduled for August 8th, signaling a forthcoming phase in the legal dispute between Kapoor and Atishi. The case underscores the intensifying political dynamics and legal battles ahead of upcoming elections.
