BJP Leader Shehzad Poonawalla Alleges Manipulation in Arvind Kejriwal's Jail Term

In a recent development in Delhi's political landscape, BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla has made startling allegations regarding Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's recent stint in jail and subsequent interim release. Addressing the media, Poonawalla claimed that media reports backed by documents and factual evidence suggest discrepancies in Kejriwal's weight during his time in confinement.

"The media has substantiated with documents that Arvind Kejriwal's weight has increased from the period of his imprisonment in April to his interim release for campaigning," Poonawalla asserted. He refuted claims of significant weight loss, contending that any minor decrease in weight was allegedly orchestrated by Kejriwal's deliberate refusal to eat in jail, purportedly to create an impression of health deterioration and elicit sympathy.

Poonawalla further implicated the Tihar Jail administration, which falls under the purview of the AAP government, in facilitating these alleged actions. "Allegations are being made against Tihar Jail, which comes under the AAP government," he added, insinuating administrative complicity in the perceived manipulation of Kejriwal's conditions during his incarceration.

These accusations by Poonawalla have sparked a fresh wave of political debate and scrutiny in Delhi, especially as the capital gears up for impending electoral battles. The timing of these allegations coincides with heightened political tensions between the BJP and AAP, setting the stage for intensified rhetoric and public discourse in the coming days.

Kejriwal and AAP leaders have not responded directly to Poonawalla's allegations at the time of this report. However, the BJP leader's assertions are likely to fuel further scrutiny and debate in Delhi's political circles, underscoring the complex dynamics ahead of upcoming electoral challenges in the national capital.
