BJP Member of Parliament Anurag Thakur has launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party, accusing them of hypocrisy and disrespect towards the Constitution of India. Thakur's remarks come in response to recent gestures by Rahul Gandhi, where he prominently displayed the Constitution and criticized the BJP-led government on various issues.

In a strongly worded statement to the press, Anurag Thakur stated, "Rahul Gandhi and his Congress party are attempting to portray themselves as champions of the Constitution, but their actions tell a different story. Mere displays of the Constitution and false oaths do not change the truth. If anyone has insulted the Constitution, it is the Congress party and the Gandhi family."

Thakur went on to question Rahul Gandhi's understanding of the Constitution, particularly referencing the Preamble. "Has Rahul Gandhi even read the Preamble of the Constitution? It describes the dark deeds and anti-constitutional acts of the Congress government," Thakur asserted, implying historical events such as the Emergency imposed in the 1970s.

The BJP MP accused the Congress of hypocrisy, suggesting that waving copies of the Constitution without understanding its contents is insufficient. "Just waving the copy of the Constitution will not work, it will have to be read as well," Thakur remarked, urging for deeper understanding and respect for constitutional principles.

Anurag Thakur did not hold back in referencing historical grievances against the Congress. "The black chapter of Emergency was imposed on the country by the Congress. Instead of hypocrisy, they should apologize to the nation for their actions," he proclaimed, highlighting a sensitive period in Indian history marked by widespread civil liberties restrictions.

The verbal clash between Anurag Thakur and Rahul Gandhi underscores the ongoing political tensions between the BJP and Congress, two of India's major political parties. Their exchanges often center around ideological differences, historical narratives, and governance issues, resonating deeply within the political landscape of the nation.

As the political discourse intensifies, observers anticipate further exchanges between leaders of the BJP and Congress, with both sides likely to leverage historical narratives and constitutional principles to bolster their respective positions in the public eye.
