BJP MP Anurag Thakur Slams Congress for Salman Khurshid’s 'Bangladesh' Remark

  • Aug. 7, 2024, 10:32 p.m.

BJP MP Anurag Thakur has strongly criticized Congress leader Salman Khurshid’s recent statement suggesting that the situation in Bangladesh could be replicated in India. Thakur's response highlights the intensifying political debate and underlying tensions between the BJP and Congress.

In his remarks, Thakur accused the Congress of seeking to destabilize the country, stating, “Facing loss for three times in a row, Congress wants to push the country into a state of anarchy. They can do anything to take the country back in time. Such statements by Congress leaders show the mentality of the party and its leaders.”

Thakur’s comments came in reaction to Khurshid’s statement, which had raised concerns about potential threats to India’s stability by drawing a parallel with the situation in Bangladesh. Thakur questioned the Congress party’s stance on Khurshid’s controversial remark, asking, “I want to ask the Congress, do they agree with this statement made by Salman Khurshid?”

The BJP MP’s critique underscores the ongoing political friction and the contentious nature of public statements made by party leaders. The Congress has yet to formally respond to Thakur’s allegations, and the debate continues to highlight the polarized environment in Indian politics.

As political discourse intensifies, Thakur's comments reflect the broader struggle between the ruling BJP and opposition Congress over national issues and leadership credibility.
