BJP Member of Parliament Arun Govil has appealed to the West Bengal government to reconsider its decision regarding the Ram Navami procession. In his remarks, Govil emphasized the peaceful nature of such processions and expressed concern over the restrictions placed on them.

“I want to appeal to the West Bengal government to think their decision over. There is never any aggression in such processions,” Govil said, underlining the peaceful and religious significance of the Ram Navami celebrations. The MP, known for his strong advocacy for Hindu causes, further stated, “Ram Mandir was formed after 500 years, and the entire country echoes with ‘Jai Shri Ram.’”

Govil’s statement comes amid growing tensions over the handling of Ram Navami processions in certain states, particularly in West Bengal, where there have been reports of restrictions and concerns about the safety of participants. By highlighting the widespread devotion to Lord Ram and the peaceful nature of these processions, Govil urged the state government to allow the celebrations to proceed without hindrance.

His remarks reflect the BJP's broader stance on promoting religious freedom and ensuring that citizens can practice their beliefs peacefully and without unnecessary interference.
