BJP MP Manoj Tiwari has taken aim at the Congress party over its response to the Centre’s decision to include senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor in one of seven international delegations meant to promote India’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism.

Responding to Congress’s reaction, Tiwari said, “Congress’s behaviour before this operation and now — this will not benefit the Congress party. It won’t be good for the Congress-ruled states either. This is not a subject for politics.”

He added, “It is the greatness of the central government that they are selecting a few MPs from every party to represent India globally on such a critical issue.”

The Centre’s move to include cross-party representation in its diplomatic push against terrorism has drawn mixed reactions, with the Congress welcoming Tharoor's inclusion but also questioning the government’s broader approach.
