BJP Member of Parliament Manoj Tiwari has come out in strong support of the Waqf Amendment Bill, calling it “absolutely constitutional and humane in the true sense.” In his statement, Tiwari emphasized that the bill serves the best interests of the vast majority of Muslims in the country.

“The Waqf amendment is absolutely constitutional and humane in the true sense. It is in the best interest of 99% Muslims,” Tiwari said, defending the proposed changes to the management of Waqf properties. The bill seeks to address the long-standing issues related to transparency, accountability, and the proper use of Waqf properties, which have been a source of contention for years.

Tiwari further criticized those opposing the bill, suggesting that their opposition was rooted in self-interest. “Those who are opposing the Waqf bill are the ones who are personally using the Waqf properties,” he claimed, implying that the resistance to the bill comes from individuals who have benefitted from the mismanagement of Waqf assets.

The Waqf Amendment Bill has sparked significant political debate, with supporters like Tiwari arguing that it will ensure the proper use of Waqf properties for the benefit of marginalized communities, while critics raise concerns about its impact on the autonomy of religious institutions.

Tiwari’s comments reflect the BJP’s stance on the matter, positioning the amendment as a necessary step toward ensuring justice and transparency in the management of Waqf properties, ultimately benefiting the common people.
