BJP MP Ravi Kishan Responds to Sambhal SDM's Statement on Public Namaz Practices

BJP Member of Parliament, Ravi Kishan, has weighed in on the recent statement made by Sambhal Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) regarding the offering of Namaaz on public roads. Kishan has urged both Hindus and Muslims to celebrate their festivals without causing inconvenience to the public, while questioning the practice of performing prayers in the streets.

Kishan’s remarks came after the SDM’s comments drew attention to the rising trend of people offering Namaz on roads and public spaces, leading to traffic congestion and public disruption, especially during busy hours. In his statement, the BJP MP stressed the importance of maintaining public order and ensuring that religious practices do not interfere with everyday life.

“It is the responsibility of Hindus as well as Muslims to celebrate your festivals without troubling the public,” Kishan stated. He further added, “All the scholars and Maulanas say that Namaz is accepted in the Mosque. Who started this practice on the streets?”

Kishan’s comments underscore a growing concern over the practice of offering prayers in public spaces, particularly in the face of traffic jams and emergency vehicle delays. The MP’s criticism seems to challenge the growing trend of holding religious gatherings on public roads instead of designated places of worship, such as mosques.

His remarks have sparked a wave of discussions across social media and political circles, with some supporting his view that religious observances should not disrupt public life, while others have defended the practice as an expression of faith.

The controversy highlights the delicate balance between religious freedom and civic responsibility, with calls for better urban planning and respect for all communities during public events. As the debate continues, it remains to be seen whether these discussions will lead to a broader conversation about the role of religion in public spaces and how such practices can be regulated to minimize inconvenience for the general public.
