BJP MP Sambit Patra Criticizes Congress Leaders Over Khurshid's 'Bangladesh' Remark, Links to Rahul Gandhi

BJP MP Sambit Patra has sharply criticized Congress leader Salman Khurshid’s recent statement that the situation in Bangladesh could potentially occur in India. Patra's comments, made in the context of Khurshid’s book release event, reflect growing tensions between the BJP and Congress over issues of national stability and political discourse.

Patra expressed his concerns regarding Khurshid's remarks, stating, “He said it during a book release...from Congress' side, he warned that protests and arsons can break out in India, and what happened in Bangladesh could happen in India. So many other leaders including Shashi Tharoor were present there and they, in a way, supported that statement.” Patra’s criticism highlights what he perceives as a troubling endorsement of Khurshid’s alarming statement by other Congress leaders present at the event.

Further intensifying the debate, Patra linked Khurshid’s statement to past allegations against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. “Rahul Gandhi, whenever he went abroad, used to meet many people secretly and spoke against India. Now we are getting to know what was his intention,” Patra asserted. This connection, according to Patra, underscores a pattern of behavior he believes undermines India’s image both domestically and internationally.

The BJP MP’s remarks have fueled ongoing political discourse, with the ruling party using Khurshid’s comments as a focal point to criticize the Congress party's stance on national security and political stability. Patra's statements reflect broader concerns within the BJP about the perceived negative impact of Congress leaders' remarks on India's public perception and stability.

As the political landscape continues to evolve, the controversy surrounding Khurshid’s statement and Patra’s subsequent critique underscore the deepening divide between the BJP and Congress over issues of national integrity and governance. The debate continues to highlight the polarized nature of Indian politics and the significant role of public statements by political leaders in shaping the national discourse.
