Kerala BJP President Rajeev Chandrasekhar has weighed in on the much-anticipated movie L2: Empuraan, starring actor Mohanlal, though he has not yet seen the film. In his comments, Chandrasekhar reflected on the prequel Lucifer, calling it an excellent thriller and expressing his admiration for Mohanlal as an actor.

"I have not seen the movie. I have seen the earlier prequel of the movie called Lucifer. That was a very good thriller movie. I enjoyed the movie. I am a big fan of Mohanlal, and I had said that I look forward to seeing the sequel," Chandrasekhar said, acknowledging the success of the earlier film.

However, the BJP leader also offered his perspective on the broader discourse surrounding the film. He emphasized that movies, including L2: Empuraan, should be seen as entertainment rather than historical or political statements. "The party's position is very clear: a movie is a movie, not history," Chandrasekhar stated, signaling the BJP’s neutral stance on the cinematic portrayal.

Chandrasekhar further affirmed that every individual, including Malayalis, has the right to watch the movie and express their opinions—whether positive or negative. "Everybody has a right. Every Malayali has a right to go watch a movie, to criticize it, to like it, to dislike it," he remarked.

Referring to some political leaders, including Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who have expressed appreciation for L2: Empuraan, Chandrasekhar noted that differing views should not be overanalyzed. "Some people, like Pinarayi Vijayan and his group, have liked the movie. That is fine. People should not read too much into it or too little into it," he concluded.

Chandrasekhar's comments highlight the ongoing debates surrounding the movie, with some viewing it through the lens of politics and others as pure entertainment. As L2: Empuraan continues to generate buzz, it remains to be seen how the film will be received by audiences across the state and beyond.
