BJP National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla has launched a sharp attack on the Congress-led Karnataka government, alleging deep-rooted corruption and branding it a “government of loot and scams.”

“The Karnataka government has become synonymous with corruption,” Poonawalla said in a press statement. He cited recent comments made by Congress MLA Basavaraj Rayareddy, who is reportedly close to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, claiming that “Karnataka has become number one in corruption under the Congress.”

Poonawalla further pointed to allegations raised by the Karnataka State Contractors Association, stating that corruption is rampant across departments. “The sons of the Ministers are taking money for deals; there are unseen hands involved in taking money in the office of Deputy CM DK Shivakumar and other ministers,” he alleged.

Calling the Congress administration in the state a “government of loot and scams,” the BJP spokesperson demanded accountability and an investigation into the claims. The charges come as political tensions escalate ahead of key electoral contests, with corruption emerging as a focal issue between the ruling Congress and the BJP opposition in Karnataka.
