In a recent event organised by the Global Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (GAPIO), Defence Minister Rajnath Singh lauded the association’s doctors for their unwavering commitment to humanity. The minister, in his address, highlighted the doctors’ dedication to improving lives in over 50 countries.

“These esteemed doctors are not just healthcare professionals,” Singh said. “They are dedicated servants of humanity, fully committed towards the betterment of the lives of the people.”

The GAPIO, a non-profit organisation, has been instrumental in providing healthcare services across the globe. Its members, Indian-origin physicians, have been extending their healing touch to patients in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Africa, and beyond.

Singh’s words underscored the significant role that these doctors play in global health. “Their service knows no bounds,” he added, emphasising the reach and impact of their work.

The event served as a platform to acknowledge the contributions of these doctors, who, despite their geographical distances, are united in their mission to serve. Their work goes beyond borders, reflecting the essence of the medical profession - service to humanity.

The Defence Minister’s recognition of GAPIO’s work is a testament to the global impact of Indian-origin physicians. It underscores the potential of collaborative, cross-border efforts in healthcare to improve lives worldwide.
