A dense fog blanketing the nation's capital has severely hampered flight operations at the Delhi airport, reducing visibility to almost nonexistent in several areas. For flight information, travelers are advised by the airport to get in touch with the airline in question.

There may be disruptions to planes that are not CAT III compliant as landings and takeoffs continue at Delhi airport. For the most recent flight information, travelers asked to get in touch with the airline in question. The Delhi airport expressed its sincere sorrow for any trouble it may have caused.

A noteworthy feature of the CAT III instrument landing system is its anti-fog mechanism, which is activated in low visibility conditions. Although the CAT III aids in a precise landing approach, it is useless in situations where visibility is less than fifty feet.

The Delhi airport has been experiencing extremely high fog with zero visibility since 5:30 am on Monday, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The weather service also reported that visibility decreased to just 125 meters in some areas of the nation's capital.

At Delhi IGI Airport, there has been extremely dense fog with zero visibility since 05:30 IST today. The IMD stated in its bulletin that "RVR at all RWYs 125 to 175m and Operations are under CAT IIIB."

The statement went on, "At 05:30 IST today, fog was observed in the following areas: Chandigarh, West U.P., East M.P., Bihar, Odisha, and Vidarbha; moderate to dense fog in isolated pockets of East Raj, East U.P.; and very dense fog in isolated pockets of Punjab, Delhi, West Rajasthan, and West M.P."

Meanwhile, the weather bureau reports that Delhi registered a 9.4 degree Celsius temperature on Monday morning.

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) supplied data indicating that the national capital's air quality remained in the ' very poor' category, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) averaging 400. It is noteworthy that an AQI of 0–50 is acceptable, 51–100 satisfactory, 101–200 moderate, 201–300 bad, 301–400 very poor, 401–450 severe, and above 450 severe-plus.
