In a move aimed at strengthening direct democracy and transparency in governance, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today opened public suggestion boxes from North Delhi at the Delhi Secretariat. The initiative is part of her ongoing effort to enable citizens to communicate their grievances and suggestions directly with the Chief Minister’s Office.

Speaking at the Secretariat, CM Gupta said, “We will open the boxes in the CM Office only so that there is no scope for manipulation and people's expectations and messages reach me directly.”

She emphasized that such direct channels of communication are essential for building a responsive and efficient government. The suggestions and complaints collected will be reviewed at the highest level, and concerned departments will be directed to take appropriate action.

Gupta added, “This direct communication is very important so that the state government acts on people's expectations, which will enhance the system management and aid in taking cognizance of people's complaints.”

The suggestion boxes were earlier installed across North Delhi at public places and government offices, inviting residents to drop written feedback. The initiative is expected to be rolled out across other regions of Delhi in the coming weeks, as part of a broader citizen engagement strategy.
