On the occasion of International Biodiversity Day, Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa announced a new initiative to boost environmental awareness among the city’s youth.

The Delhi Environment Department has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) to engage and educate children on ecological conservation. Under this partnership, TERI will reach out to two lakh children across Delhi, guiding them through awareness programmes focused on the city’s unique biodiversity and environmental challenges.

Sirsa emphasized the importance of involving young minds, saying, “If the children can understand the environment of Delhi better, they will be able to understand how to save it.” The initiative aims to foster a sense of responsibility and inspire sustainable practices from an early age.

The collaboration with TERI marks a significant step in Delhi’s ongoing efforts to tackle pollution and environmental degradation through education and community participation.
