Delhi, India - Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri inaugurated 201 new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations in Delhi today, marking a significant step towards the country’s goal of increasing the gas component of natural gas from 6% to 15%.

The inauguration aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of enhancing the country’s natural gas component. “Today, I am very happy that 201 additional CNG filling stations have been installed by 15 companies in 17 states,” said Puri during the inauguration.

Each of these new stations has the capacity to provide CNG to 2,500 vehicles in a day. However, this is just the beginning. The companies involved have committed to quadrupling this capacity in the coming days, potentially serving up to 10,000 vehicles daily per station.

This development not only signifies a move towards cleaner energy but also promises to improve the availability and accessibility of CNG for the growing number of CNG vehicles in the country.

The Union Minister expressed his satisfaction with the progress and reiterated the government’s commitment to sustainable and clean energy. “We are on track with PM Modi’s vision, and we will continue to work towards increasing the use of cleaner, greener fuel in our country,” Puri added.

The inauguration of these stations is expected to significantly ease the demand for CNG in the region, contributing to a greener and more sustainable future for India.
