New Delhi: On Saturday, Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena suggested that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) launch an investigation into the purported acquisition and distribution of “non-standard” medications at the nation's capital's government hospitals. The LG expressed worry in a note addressed to Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar, citing the fact that thousands of patients have received these medications.

"I have read the file with a great deal of anxiety. The note to Kumar said, "I am, to put it mildly, appalled at the fact that lakhs of unfortunate people and patients are receiving fake drugs that have failed quality standard tests."

Lt Governor Saxena continued, stating that these medications were obtained through the Central Procurement Agency (CPA), a division of Delhi Health Services (DHS), and may have also been provided to Mohalla Clinics.
