Delhi Water Crisis: BJP Leader Shazia Ilmi Accuses AAP of Mismanagement

Delhi, India - In a recent statement, BJP leader Shazia Ilmi accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of mismanagement and lack of transparency in the Delhi Jal Board (DJB).

Ilmi criticized Water Minister Atishi for blaming the Haryana government for her inability to manage the water crisis in Delhi. “Instead of apologising to the people of Delhi and giving an account of her work, Atishi has shifted the blame to the Haryana government,” Ilmi said.

The BJP leader pointed out that it has been 10 years since the DJB, which was once a profitable organisation, has conducted an audit. “No one knows what’s happening in the DJB, or how much debt they have been made to take,” she added.

Ilmi also accused the AAP of failing to curb the “tanker mafia” in Delhi, a promise made by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. “The tanker mafia is fully functional in Delhi, fighting against whom was one of the things Kejriwal pledged he would fight against,” she said.

She further criticized the AAP for providing free water without ensuring its availability. “Providing free water is one thing, but water can be provided only if it is available,” Ilmi stated.

The BJP leader ended her statement by accusing the AAP of blaming the Lieutenant Governor (LG) and the BJP whenever they are held accountable. “They blame the LG and the BJP if they are held accountable for anything,” she concluded.

The AAP has yet to respond to Ilmi’s accusations. The ongoing water crisis in Delhi continues to be a major issue, with residents demanding immediate action from the government.
