DELHI - The ongoing water crisis in Delhi has become a hotbed of political debate. The newly elected BJP MP from North East Delhi, Manoj Tiwari, has criticized Atishi, the AAP leader in charge of the Jal Vibhaag (Water Department).

Tiwari said, “Atishi has the Jal Vibhaag, she cannot cry that there is no water in Delhi because the tanker mafia is taking out water from Delhi and giving it to the people of Delhi.” He questioned why the people associated with the tanker mafia are able to get water, but Atishi is not.

He further added, “During this time, Delhi is also getting more water from other states but the pipes which have not been repaired even once in 9-10 years… how can you blame others for that?” Tiwari pointed out the lack of maintenance of the city’s water infrastructure as a major issue.

Tiwari criticized the AAP government, saying, “You can try to throw this issue on others in how much flowery language you use, providing water is the job of the Delhi government but you have only looted.” He accused the AAP government of failing to fulfill its responsibilities and instead shifting the blame onto others.

He concluded his statement by saying, “She (Atishi) should be ashamed that talking about providing water to the people of Delhi feels like an insult.” This remark indicates a sharp criticism of Atishi’s handling of the water crisis.

The water crisis in Delhi has been a longstanding issue, with residents facing irregular water supply and quality issues. The recent comments by Manoj Tiwari have brought the issue back into the spotlight, highlighting the political dimensions of the crisis. As the debate continues, the people of Delhi await effective solutions to their water woes.
