After a stormy start, the special session of the Delhi assembly was adjourned till Thursday following sloganeering by AAP and BJP MLAs and, later, the storming of the well. AAP MLAs burnt an effigy marked "Operation Lotus" on the assembly premises, which was condemned by the BJP.
As the discussion on the confidence motion, which was first moved on Monday, was about to begin, BJP MLA Vijender Gupta asked deputy speaker Rakhi Birla to take up his calling attention motion. AAP MLA Atishi tried to talk about the alleged "Operation Lotus" of the BJP to poach opposition legislators. With shouting from both sides, Birla adjourned the house till 11.30am.

Delhi L-G VK Saxena has decided to take legal action against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Saurabh Bharadwaj, Atishi, Durgesh Pathak and others for the allegations of corruption levelled by them and attributed to his tenure as chairman of the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Raj Niwas

"BJP keeps overthrowing state governments all over India by threatening and luring MLAs using money and muscle. So far, the BJP has wooed 277 MLAs across India and tried to buy 40 MLAs in Delhi, but they fell flat on their faces, "Atishi said after the burning of the effigy.

Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said the party strongly condemned the burning of the effigy by AAP MLAs inside the assembly complex. He added that no matter which party was in governance or opposition in the Delhi assembly, no one had ever done anything to hurt the prestige of the assembly.

Reacting to the charge that it had tried to poach AAP MLAs by offering huge bribes, the BJP on Wednesday said that all functionaries of the ruling party in Delhi should be made to take a lie-detector test.

After the House reconvened, Gupta asked Birla under which rule she allowed Atishi to speak on an issue other than the confidence motion. Gupta was supported by his party MLAs. Birla said that the opposition members had not allowed the House to function in the last few days. Following this, Gupta was marched out and other BJP MLAs walked out in protest.
Later, Atishi alleged that the BJP first threatened MLAs of the ruling party and then offered crores of rupees to them to switch sides. "Once this creates a rift in the ruling party, those MLAs join the BJP, which forms the government," she added.
"Operation Lotus has already been run by the BJP in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and many other states." "They have traded 277 MLAs so far, and we foiled their plan to buy 40 MLAs in Delhi," said Atishi.
AAP MLA Durgesh Pathak alleged that the BJP had poached 277 MLAs across the country and spent Rs 6,300 crore on it.
"This is a serious concern and the matter should be investigated." What is the source of this money? How was this money spent? This should be probed, "he added.
