Govt Ready for Debate on Operation Sindoor, Opposition Avoiding Discussion: BJP’s Shazia Ilmi

BJP leader Shazia Ilmi on Monday criticized the opposition, particularly the Congress party, for allegedly avoiding a discussion on Operation Sindoor—a recent counter-terror operation reportedly targeting terrorist hideouts.

Speaking to reporters in Delhi, Ilmi said, “The government is ready to hold a discussion on Operation Sindoor and explain how the terrorist hideouts were destroyed. The opposition is running away from the discussion.”

She questioned the silence of the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi. “Why has the Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, not given any notice in this regard? The Congress party only wants to raise those points that question the bravery of the armed forces,” she added.

The BJP has positioned Operation Sindoor as a significant counter-terror achievement, while accusing opposition parties of politicizing national security for electoral gains.

Parliament is expected to address the issue further after the Business Advisory Committee meets tomorrow to finalize the time for the debate.
