It has so far been a torrid campaign for the defending champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. The team is yet to win a single match, having played three so far, and finds themselves languishing at the second-last position on the points table.

In the clash against Punjab Kings on Sunday evening, the team were outplayed in both departments of the game as they eventually lost the contest by 54 runs.

Sharing views on the team's lackluster display, CSK skipper Ravindra Jadeja wants his team to find ways to come back stronger even as he defended opener Ruturaj Gaikwad's poor form after his team's third successive defeat in the IPL.

"I think we lost too many wickets in the powerplay and didn't find momentum from ball one. We need to find a way to come back stronger," Jadeja said after the match.

Asked if he has concerns about Ruturaj Gaikwad's form, the skipper said: "We need to give him confidence as we all know he's a very good player." I'm sure he will come good. " Related Stories Overs.

Gaikwad, who had won the Orange Cap in the previous edition, has not been in the best of form, managing just two runs from three outings.

He also praised Shivam Dube, who has now scored back-to-back fifties.

"Dube has been batting well, and I think keeping him in a good frame of mind is the key." We will try our best to work hard and come back stronger. "

CSK lost to Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants in the first two games. The team will now lock horns with the Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday.
