External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar on Thursday held talks with Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty during the first India–Egypt Strategic Dialogue, marking a significant milestone in the growing partnership between the two nations.

Dr. Jaishankar said the dialogue reflected the momentum achieved since the elevation of bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership in 2023, highlighting intensified cooperation across multiple sectors. “Our meeting for the first India-Egypt Strategic Dialogue is a milestone in our ties... Since the elevation of our relationship to a level of a strategic partnership in 2023, we can see that cooperation in various domains has intensified,” he said.

He also expressed gratitude for Egypt’s solidarity following the Pahalgam terrorist attack, recalling the communication between the two leaders during that time.

Acknowledging the volatile international situation, Dr. Jaishankar emphasized the importance of exchanging perspectives on current global challenges.
