Delhi - In a recent statement, Russian Deputy Chief of Mission, Roman Babushkin, shed light on the enduring relationship between India and Russia. He quoted India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, stating that the relations between the two nations are a constant, unchanging factor that enjoys a great sense of continuity.

On April 13, both countries will celebrate the 77th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Interestingly, Russia was the first country to recognize India’s independence, a significant event that occurred four months before it was officially announced. This recognition marked the beginning of a relationship that has since been characterized by numerous proud milestones.

Despite the turbulence witnessed globally, the bond between India and Russia continues to expand. Babushkin emphasized that the bilateral relations are based on legitimate national interests, sincere trust, friendship, support, and respect for each other’s interests.

The statement from the Russian diplomat underscores the deep-rooted ties between the two nations, a relationship that has stood the test of time and continues to flourish despite the changing global landscape.
