New Delhi - Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, in a recent statement, highlighted the significant strides made by the Indian Railways under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“In the last ten years, PM Modi has made a lot of efforts to bring improvement in railways. Hence, railways are working at a good speed,” said Vaishnaw. He contrasted the current progress with the pace of development during the Congress era, stating that while previously only 4 km of railway tracks were laid per day, the figure has now increased to 15 km per day.

This year alone, the Indian Railways has laid a staggering 5,100 km of railway track. To put this into perspective, this is equivalent to the entire rail network of Switzerland.

Vaishnaw’s statement underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing the country’s rail infrastructure. “Railways will continue to bring new infrastructure and services at the same pace in the upcoming five years,” he assured.

The minister’s remarks come at a time when the Indian Railways is undergoing a significant transformation, with numerous initiatives aimed at modernizing the network, improving passenger amenities, and enhancing freight capacity.

The accelerated pace of development under the current government is a testament to the Prime Minister’s vision of a robust and efficient railway system that caters to the needs of a growing India.

As the Indian Railways continues on its path of rapid progress, the nation eagerly anticipates the new milestones that the next five years will bring.
