New Delhi, April 7, 2026: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has announced a plan to revamp stretches beneath six major flyovers in the national capital to improve urban aesthetics, safety, and public utility.

Objective: Transform underutilized spaces into clean, functional public areas

The project aims to:

Improve safety and visibility in neglected areas
Enhance the overall look of city roads and flyovers
Implementation

The revamp will be carried out in phases, with tenders and design planning underway. The civic body may also explore public-private partnerships (PPP) for maintenance and long-term upkeep.

Significance

Spaces under flyovers in Delhi have long remained poorly maintained and underutilized. This initiative is expected to convert them into usable urban spaces, improving both city infrastructure and commuter experience.
