Union Minister Piyush Goyal reaffirmed the strength of the India-Italy partnership during his address at the Italy-India Business, Science and Technology Forum, calling it a “treasure” in today’s turbulent global landscape.

“Amidst all the global challenges the world is experiencing, it's very reassuring to see the strength and depth of the Italy-India friendship,” Goyal said. Quoting an old adage, he added, “Those who find a friend find a treasure.”

Goyal emphasized that the forum serves as a timely and crucial platform to further solidify bilateral ties and called for collective action to implement the Joint Strategic Action Plan 2025–29, which was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in November 2024.

“This plan is a forward-looking, ambitious and pragmatic roadmap with a strong focus on trade, investment, and innovation,” Goyal noted, urging businesses and institutions from both countries to contribute actively.

The joint action plan aims to deepen collaboration across key sectors including clean energy, advanced manufacturing, digital technologies, and research. Goyal’s remarks reflect India’s commitment to strengthening global alliances that support its growth vision under Viksit Bharat @ 2047.
