Prime Minister Narendra Modi used his platform at the 'Journey Towards Viksit Bharat: A Post Union Budget 2024-25 Conference' in Delhi today to take a sharp critique of past administrations, highlighting what he described as a failure to implement budgetary announcements effectively before 2014.

In his keynote address, Modi contrasted the current government's approach with that of previous regimes. "Before 2014, huge announcements were made in the budget to show that the economy is good. But the reality was that those announcements were not implemented on the ground," Modi said. He continued, "Previous governments did not pay attention to completing any schemes. We have changed this situation in the last 10 years."

Modi’s remarks reflect a broader narrative often employed by his administration to underscore the achievements of the current government while criticizing the performance of past administrations. He argued that his government has made significant strides in ensuring that budgetary promises translate into tangible results, a key point of emphasis in his ongoing political discourse.

The conference, which follows the recent Union Budget for 2024-25, has been a focal point for discussing the budget's implications and the progress of various government schemes. Modi's address was aimed at highlighting the perceived shortcomings of earlier budgets and showcasing the effectiveness of the present government's policies.

Modi outlined how his administration has prioritized the successful implementation of schemes, claiming a marked improvement in turning announcements into on-ground realities. He credited this shift to a more focused and transparent approach, designed to ensure that initiatives not only receive financial backing but also achieve their intended outcomes.

The 'Journey Towards Viksit Bharat' conference has served as a platform for the government to promote its achievements and future plans. With Modi's address, the event underscored a commitment to accountability and performance, setting the stage for discussions on the implementation of new budgetary measures.

As the conference progresses, attendees are expected to delve deeper into the specifics of the Union Budget and assess how the current administration plans to continue its focus on effective policy execution. The Prime Minister's comments have set the tone for a series of debates and evaluations on the impact of past and present governance on India's economic trajectory.
