Prime Minister Narendra Modi has underscored the crucial role of the judiciary in India's quest to become a "Viksit Bharat" (Developed India), in a compelling address at the National Conference of District Judiciary held today. The Prime Minister’s remarks highlighted several key areas where the judiciary's evolution is essential for national progress.

In his speech, PM Modi emphasized the need for modernization within the district judiciary system, which he described as pivotal for ensuring timely and effective justice delivery. The Prime Minister noted that the integration of e-Courts has been instrumental in accelerating the judicial process. By leveraging technology, the judiciary can manage cases more efficiently and reduce the backlog that often hampers justice.

The Prime Minister also pointed to the ongoing reforms under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) as a significant step toward judicial modernization. The BNS, which seeks to update and consolidate existing laws into a more coherent framework, is expected to streamline legal procedures and enhance the overall efficiency of the judicial system.

A critical aspect of the PM’s address focused on cases related to atrocities against women. Modi stated that the faster resolution of these cases is essential for ensuring the safety and security of women across the country. He argued that swift justice in such matters not only provides relief to the victims but also acts as a deterrent against future crimes.

"The quicker we can resolve cases of violence and discrimination against women," Modi said, "the stronger the assurance we provide to half of our population regarding their safety and dignity."

The National Conference of District Judiciary brought together key stakeholders from across the judiciary to discuss these important issues and strategize on the implementation of proposed reforms. The Prime Minister's remarks reflect a broader commitment to strengthening the judicial system as part of India's development agenda.

As the country moves forward, the integration of modern technology and comprehensive legal reforms are seen as crucial for achieving a more just and equitable society. PM Modi’s address serves as a reminder of the judiciary’s central role in this transformative journey towards a developed India.
