PM Narendra Modi Inaugurates 46th World Heritage Committee Session on Guru Purnima

Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the 46th Session of the World Heritage Committee with a message of celebration and significance, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima. This dual celebration underscores India's rich cultural heritage and its global leadership in promoting knowledge, spirituality, and heritage conservation.

Addressing a gathering of international delegates and dignitaries at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Prime Minister Modi extended heartfelt greetings on Guru Purnima, a day revered for honoring teachers and mentors across traditions. "Today, India celebrates the holy festival of Guru Purnima. I extend my warmest congratulations to all my fellow countrymen and to everyone celebrating this festival of knowledge and spirituality," Prime Minister Modi conveyed, setting a tone of reverence and festivity.

Highlighting the historic significance of hosting the World Heritage Committee for the first time in India, Prime Minister Modi expressed joy and pride. "Today marks the commencement of the 46th World Heritage Committee meeting in India for the first time. Naturally, all of us in India, including myself, are filled with immense happiness about this occasion," he remarked, underscoring the importance of the event for the nation.

Prime Minister Modi extended a warm welcome to the esteemed guests and delegates from around the globe, acknowledging their presence and contributions to the collective efforts in heritage preservation. He particularly congratulated UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay for her leadership and commitment to the organization's mission.

"I am confident that like every global event, this gathering will also set new records of success in India," Prime Minister Modi asserted, expressing optimism about the outcomes of the session in advancing international cooperation and strategies for safeguarding cultural and natural heritage.
