Political Tug-of-War: Rahul Gandhi Accuses PM Modi of Creating Two Indias, BJP Retorts

New Delhi - The political landscape heated up on Wednesday when Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of creating two Indias, where justice is dependent on wealth. In response, BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi hit back, stating that Gandhi’s statement reflects his mentality.

Gandhi, in a video posted on his official social media account, criticized the current administration, stating, “Narendra Modi is creating two India - where even justice is dependent on wealth.” He cited the Pune rash driving case, where two people were killed, and drew a stark contrast between the treatment of the accused from a wealthy family and a bus or auto driver involved in a similar case.

“Bus driver, Truck driver, Ola, Uber, and auto drivers. If they mistakenly kill somebody…then they are sentenced to ten years in prison. But if a 17-year-old boy belonging to a rich family is driving a Porsche car under the influence of alcohol and kills two people, He is asked to write in a particular way,” Gandhi said.

Trivedi, countering Gandhi’s accusations, said, “If Rahul Gandhi says this, it shows his mentality. Does the judicial system come under the leader? It must have been during their government.” He further pointed out that during the Congress government, the judicial system was under the leader.

Trivedi also brought up the issue of the cost of the judicial system, stating, “And if it’s about the judicial system being costly, you have sent the costliest advocates to the parliament who charge lakhs, ask your friends to help make the system cheaper.”

The exchange of words between the two leaders has once again brought the issue of wealth disparity and its impact on the justice system to the forefront of political discourse.
