Rijiju Slams Congress Over Caste Remarks Following Anurag Thakur's Lok Sabha Statements

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, following remarks made by BJP MP Anurag Thakur in the Lok Sabha. In a heated response, Rijiju condemned Congress for allegedly perpetuating caste-based divisions and criticized the party's focus on caste issues.

Rijiju’s remarks came in the wake of Thakur’s statements, which touched on the issue of caste in Indian politics. Speaking to reporters, Rijiju accused Congress of fostering a divisive agenda. “I condemn what Congress has done. They keep talking about castes all the time,” Rijiju stated. He further criticized Congress for reportedly inquiring about the castes of media personnel and army officials, accusing them of trying to create societal rifts.

The Parliamentary Affairs Minister alleged that Congress is engaged in a conspiracy to divide the country along caste lines. “Congress has hatched a conspiracy to divide the country based on castes. They keep asking about everyone's castes, but Rahul Gandhi's caste can’t be questioned. Are they above the country and Parliament?” Rijiju said.

He expressed concerns about the impact of such actions on democracy and the economy, accusing Congress of attempting to weaken both. “They want to weaken democracy and the country's economy. Their aim is to spread anarchy and violence,” Rijiju asserted.

The comments reflect the ongoing tensions between the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress party, with both sides increasingly focused on issues related to caste and political representation. Rijiju’s statements underscore the deepening political divides and the contentious nature of contemporary Indian politics.
