Responding to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s recent allegations against the Election Commission, BJP MP Sambit Patra on Wednesday accused the Congress of hypocrisy and selective outrage.

“Rahul Gandhi and the Congress never held a press conference when they won in the states. The public is watching this double standard,” Patra said, highlighting what he described as inconsistency in the party’s stance.

Questioning the logic behind Gandhi’s claim that the Election Commission is compromised, Patra asked, “If that were true, how do they justify celebrating 99 seats in the Lok Sabha? This is the peak of Rahul Gandhi’s frustration.”

The BJP leader also emphasized that despite being in opposition for years, no BJP leader had ever “threatened the officials of the Election Commission.” He added, “We respected the institution, even when we lost.”
