Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday shared key insights from the Developed Agriculture Resolution Campaign, a massive outreach initiative aimed at transforming Indian agriculture through structured dialogues and field assessments.

Speaking to the press in Delhi, Chouhan said, “Over 2,170 teams visited more than 60,000 villages, interacting with 1.45 crore farmers across India. Through these conversations, we identified challenges that farmers face daily—ranging from gaps in research and development to legal and structural issues affecting productivity.”

The campaign, aimed at increasing crop production, reducing input costs, and boosting farmers’ income, emphasized the need for crop-specific solutions. Chouhan announced that focused crop consultations will follow: starting with soybean in Indore on June 26, followed by dedicated discussions on cotton, sugarcane, and other major crops.

“We will build a state-wise, crop-wise roadmap based on these findings and collaborative sessions,” Chouhan added. He noted that the government will assess fruit and vegetable reserves, promote cost-effective farming, and enhance resistance to crop diseases, making Indian agriculture more resilient and profitable.

The insights gathered during the campaign will guide policy decisions and research priorities, aiming for a farmer-centric agriculture strategy that reflects ground realities.
