Union Health Minister JP Nadda made a comprehensive visit to the Health Ministry at Nirman Bhawan today, focusing on evaluating the work and arrangements across various sections. During his visit, he emphasized the importance of a citizen-friendly approach and proactive service in the health sector.

Minister Nadda meticulously toured the Health Observatory, Central Registry, Record Room, and Canteen, assessing the arrangements and interacting with officers in each division. "I visited every section and assessed the work done there. I also interacted with all officers and got to know about the work of all divisions," he stated, highlighting his commitment to understanding the inner workings of the ministry.

In his interactions with the officers, Nadda stressed the need for a service-oriented mindset. "I have instructed them to have a citizens-friendly approach and work with a sense of service. All officers have said that they will work as much as possible in the interest of the public," he remarked. He also advised the officials to remain vigilant and diligent in their duties, noting the unpredictable nature of health emergencies. "Our work is such that diseases don't announce and come," he reminded them.

One of the critical issues discussed during his visit was the current heatwave affecting various parts of the country. Minister Nadda revealed that the Central Government has issued directives to all hospitals to prepare for heat-related emergencies. "I discussed the heatwave with the officials and the Central Government has issued directions to all hospitals regarding this. An advisory has been issued," he confirmed.

He further instructed officials to personally visit central and centrally managed hospitals to ensure that special arrangements for dealing with the heatwave are in place. "I have also told officials to visit Central hospitals and centrally managed hospitals to see if separate arrangements have been made for the heatwave," Nadda said. The minister reiterated that advisories have also been sent to the states, ensuring a coordinated response to the heatwave.

Minister Nadda also took the opportunity to urge the public to take preventive measures against heat-related health issues. "I urge the public to give special focus on a liquid diet, have more and more water to avoid dehydration," he advised, emphasizing the importance of staying hydrated during the heatwave.

The minister's visit underscores the Health Ministry's proactive stance in enhancing public health services and preparedness for emergencies. By promoting a citizen-centric approach and ensuring readiness for health crises like the current heatwave, the Health Ministry aims to safeguard public health and well-being.
