New Delhi: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah is set to unveil a pioneering scheme aimed at supporting farmers through nano-fertilizer subsidies under the AGR-2 Scheme during the 'Sahkar Se Samriddhi' conference in Gujarat's Gandhinagar on July 6. The occasion marks the celebration of the 102nd International Day of Cooperatives and coincides with the 3rd Foundation Day of the Ministry of Cooperation.

The Ministry of Cooperation announced that Amit Shah will inaugurate the scheme by initiating payments to three farmers directly at the event. Additionally, he will launch 'Bharat Organic Atta,' produced by the National Cooperative Organics Limited (NCOL), emphasizing the government's commitment to promoting organic farming and cooperative initiatives.

The International Day of Cooperatives, observed annually on the first Saturday of July since 1923 by the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA), highlights the contributions of cooperative movements worldwide. This year's theme, "Cooperatives Build a Better Future for All," underscores the role of cooperatives in fostering sustainable development and inclusive growth.

During his visit to Gujarat, Amit Shah will visit the Changda Milk Producers Cooperative Society Limited in Banaskantha, where he will review transactions conducted by milk producers using RuPay Kisan Credit Cards (KCC) at micro-ATMs. The Minister plans to distribute RuPay KCC at zero interest rates to women cooperative members, further empowering them in agricultural activities.

In Panchmahal district, Shah will engage with members of the Angadia Arthksham Seva Sahakari Mandli, discussing cooperative initiatives and their impact on local communities. He will also visit the Aashapur Chhariya Milk Cooperative Society to assess dairy operations and participate in a review meeting on various initiatives undertaken by the Ministry of Cooperation in Gujarat.

The Ministry of Cooperation has spearheaded over 54 initiatives in the cooperative sector within a short span, aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity, empowering women through financial inclusion, and promoting sustainable development across the country.

Amit Shah's engagements underscore the government's commitment to leveraging cooperatives as a pivotal instrument for socio-economic transformation, fostering prosperity and resilience at the grassroots level.
