Union Home Minister Amit Shah reaffirmed the pivotal role of the Multi-Agency Centre (MAC) during a recent meeting, emphasizing its mandate for round-the-clock operations and real-time intelligence sharing among stakeholders, including last-mile responders. Held under the directive of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the meeting outlined plans for a comprehensive technical and operational overhaul to enhance MAC's effectiveness in addressing national security challenges.

The MAC, operated under the auspices of the Intelligence Bureau (IB), serves as a critical platform for collating and disseminating actionable intelligence to various security and law enforcement agencies across India. Minister Amit Shah underscored the need for seamless coordination and proactive measures to preempt security threats, reflecting the government's commitment to bolstering India's security infrastructure.

"Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the MAC framework is poised to undergo a significant revamp aimed at expanding its outreach and operational capabilities," stated the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in a statement following the meeting. The envisioned enhancements aim to strengthen MAC's role in preemptive intelligence gathering and response coordination, aligning with evolving security dynamics.

The meeting also highlighted plans to integrate advanced technologies and analytical tools within the MAC framework, enabling faster and more accurate threat assessments. This initiative seeks to empower security agencies with timely information critical for strategic decision-making and operational readiness.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah concluded the session by stressing the importance of continuous vigilance and collaborative efforts among all stakeholders to maintain national security. The proactive measures discussed are expected to fortify India's defenses and ensure swift responses to emerging threats in an increasingly complex security landscape.
