NEW DELHI: Union Minister Anurag Thakur, in a recent statement, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), highlighting the administration’s track record of fulfilling its promises.

“We have fulfilled every resolution we took,” said Thakur, referring to the government’s past actions. He cited the repeal of Article 370 and 35 A, the scrapping of triple talaq, and the construction of the grand Ram Temple as examples of the government’s resolve.

Thakur emphasized that the government had pledged to implement the CAA to protect persecuted Hindus, Sikhs, Parsis, Buddhists, and Christians in neighbouring countries. “We have enacted a law to grant them Indian citizenship,” he stated, underscoring the government’s commitment to this cause.

The CAA, which has been a subject of intense debate and protest, aims to provide Indian citizenship to persecuted minorities from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. Thakur’s statement comes at a time when the implementation of the CAA is being keenly watched across the nation.

The Union Minister’s remarks serve as a reminder of the government’s determination to stand by its decisions and promises, despite facing criticism and opposition. As the nation continues to debate the implications of these policies, Thakur’s words underscore the government’s unwavering commitment to its agenda.
