Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, has announced an increase in the price of LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) cylinders, effective immediately. According to the new pricing, PMUY (Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana) beneficiaries will see an increase of Rs 50, with the price per cylinder rising from Rs 500 to Rs 550. For other consumers, the price will rise from Rs 803 to Rs 853.

In his statement, Minister Puri clarified that this price hike is a temporary step, saying, "This is a step which we will review as we go along. We review these every 2-3 weeks." He emphasized that the decision was made in light of the current economic conditions and market dynamics.

Puri further addressed concerns about potential price hikes in other fuel products, particularly petrol and diesel, stating, "The excise duty that you have seen increase is not to go on to the consumer on petrol and diesel." He reassured the public that the government is monitoring fuel prices carefully to avoid further burden on consumers.

This price adjustment is part of the ongoing efforts to manage fuel and energy costs in the country, with the government regularly reviewing these changes to ensure a balance between consumer needs and market conditions.
