Union Railway Minister Announces Significant Budget Allocations for Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand Projects

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for the substantial budget allocations towards railway projects in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand. Speaking in Delhi, Vaishnav detailed the allocations and highlighted key developments underway in these regions.

"This year, Rs 3694 crore have been allocated for ongoing railway projects in Jammu and Kashmir," announced Minister Vaishnav, emphasizing the government's commitment to enhancing railway infrastructure in the region. He noted the progress made on ongoing projects and highlighted the impending completion of significant initiatives.

In Uttarakhand, Minister Vaishnav revealed an allocation of Rs 5131 crore for railway projects, with particular emphasis on the Karnaprayag project. "The Karnaprayag project, featuring a 213 km long tunnel, is crucial for us," he stated, underscoring its strategic importance in the region's connectivity enhancement efforts.

Highlighting technological advancements, Minister Vaishnav mentioned the deployment of two Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM) named 'Shiv' and 'Shakti' for the Karnaprayag project. These machines signify the government's commitment to leveraging modern engineering solutions to expedite infrastructure development.

The announcements come amidst efforts to bolster railway connectivity and infrastructure across Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand, aiming to enhance accessibility and stimulate regional development. Minister Vaishnav reiterated the government's dedication to completing these projects promptly to benefit residents and bolster economic growth.
