Kapil Sharma has made the headlines and top trends on Twitter once again. This time it's not because of his upcoming project or hilarious streak of jokes, but of a spurring controversy related to The Kapil Sharma Show. Moreover, this recent controversy has led to the comedian being bashed and trolled on Twitter.
Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri was recently requested by a fan to promote his upcoming film that talks about the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus in the 1990s due to the Kashmir Insurgency. Responding to this, he directed a tweet at Kapil and said that he was nobody to decide if he could promote the film on the show.
His tweet read, "I don’t get to decide who should be invited to the @KapilSharmaK9 show. It’s his and his producer’s choice whom he wants to invite. As far as Bollywood is concerned, I’d say what Mr. Bachchan was quoted saying about Gandhis: "Vo raja hai hum rank."
In another previous tweet, Vivek Agnihotri claimed that the show refused to promote his film because it didn’t have a ‘commercial star’ in its star cast. "They refused to call us on their show because we don’t have a big commercial star. #FACT," read the tweet.
The filmmaker’s assertions have raged up netizens who are now 'demanding the boycott of Kapil Sharma'. The comedian is getting slammed by internet users on social media. Moreover, the unstoppable trolling on Twitter has made Kapil Sharma a trend on the platform too.
In reaction to Vivek’s claims, a user called out Kapil and wrote, "Kapil Sharma is the circus master of Bollywood." He is not serious about national issues. .He is abusing and insulting poor people in the show for making money . No civilised society will allow his hypocracy. .He cannot understand the pain of genocide. Jai Hind. ."
Another user wrote, "Boycott Kapil Sharma show. Anyways... i have said earlier also... this show is worth nothing."
