New Delhi: More than 115 airlines and aviation representatives from over 55 countries are expected at Routes Asia 2027, to be held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from March 16 to 18. The three-day event will bring together airlines, airports and other aviation stakeholders to explore ways to strengthen air connectivity across the Asia-Pacific region.
More than 2,500 face-to-face meetings are expected to take place at this event, providing a platform for aviation industry leaders to discuss new routes, increased capacity, and opportunities to strengthen regional and international connectivity.
Addressing the inaugural event of ‘Routes Asia 2027’, Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu stated that enhanced air connectivity is crucial for achieving India’s aviation-related goals. He noted that India is currently the third-largest aviation market domestically and aims to become the third-largest aviation market globally.
The Minister stated that India aims for a significant increase in annual passenger numbers by 2047, targeting a rise from the current figure of approximately 240 crore to 13 crore. India is also expanding its airport network to boost the growth of the aviation sector in the long term.
Naidu said the event reflects India’s ambition to play a larger role in shaping the future of aviation in Asia and beyond. He also highlighted the scope for additional airlines, capacity and routes as India’s aviation sector continues to expand.
Hosting Routes Asia 2027 in New Delhi will give India an opportunity to engage with global aviation stakeholders and explore new routes, increased capacity and stronger air connectivity across the Asia-Pacific region.
