BJP-Led Mahayuti’s Civic Poll Sweep Reflects Trust in PM Modi, Says Shahzad Poonawala

Date:

Delhi: Reacting to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) election results, BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala on Tuesday said the strong performance of the BJP-led Mahayuti across Maharashtra reflected the people’s faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and the state government’s governance record.

Speaking in Delhi, Poonawala said, “The spectacular victory that the BJP-led Mahayuti has got not only in BMC but also across Maharashtra, including Pune, Nagpur, Nashik and others, shows that the people of Maharashtra, and Marathi people, have blessed PM Modi and his leadership.”

He credited the Devendra Fadnavis-led administration and the Mahayuti government for consistently delivering on governance and development. “Devendra Fadnavis’ administration and the Mahayuti government have been delivering results nonstop,” he said, adding that the civic poll verdict was a clear endorsement of performance-driven politics.

Poonawala said the results demonstrated that voters had chosen development, stability, and effective governance over what he termed divisive or negative politics. According to him, the mandate underlined growing public confidence in the BJP-led alliance’s vision for urban development and improved civic administration.

The Mahayuti’s strong showing across major urban centres has been seen as a significant political boost for the ruling alliance in Maharashtra. The outcome of the civic polls is expected to influence the political narrative ahead of upcoming local body and state-level elections.

BJP leaders have described the results as a responsibility to further accelerate development projects, strengthen municipal governance, and ensure better delivery of public services across the state
