CBSE: Second Phase Of Class 10 Board Exams Will Start From 15 May

Date:

Students of the Central Board of Secondary Education began the second phase of Class 10 board examinations on May 15 under the newly introduced two-board exam system aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The second board exam gives students an opportunity to improve their scores or clear compartment subjects after the main February–March examinations. According to reports, over 6.6 lakh students have registered for the second phase exams this year, with more than 5.25 lakh candidates appearing for score improvement.

The examinations are being conducted from May 15 to May 21 in a single shift from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Mathematics papers were held on the opening day, while English exams are scheduled for May 16, followed by Science, language subjects, and Social Science papers later in the week.

Under the revised policy, students who appeared in the first/main board examination are eligible to reappear in up to three subjects for performance improvement. The system has been introduced to reduce exam stress and provide greater academic flexibility.
