After the huge success of Yoga Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that yoga is inspiring people to lead positive lives filled with self-confidence.

On this occasion, PM Modi also shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam (wise saying): “Chittaprashamanopayo yoga ityabhidhiyate; Pranaspandanirodho va dvedha yogasya dharana.” This Subhashitam states: “The method to completely calm the mind is known as ‘Yoga’. Two approaches to achieving this goal are described: calming the mind and controlling the rhythm of the breath.”

It is noteworthy that the 12th International Yoga Day was celebrated on Sunday. Prime Minister Modi led the national Yoga Day event from Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. He participated in a ‘Common Yoga Protocol’ session alongside thousands of yoga practitioners. Extending his best wishes to people across the globe on International Yoga Day, PM Modi noted that June 21st marks the longest day of the year in many parts of the world and has also emerged as one of humanity’s greatest collective celebrations through yoga.
