New Delhi to Host Inaugural Rashtriya Gramin Vikas Sammelan on June 28–29

New Delhi: Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will preside over the National Rural Development Conference 2026 at the Bharat Ratna C. Subramaniam Auditorium, Pusa, New Delhi, on June 28–29. Rural development ministers, senior government officials, and experts from all states and Union Territories will participate in this two-day conference to discuss the holistic development of rural areas, review key flagship programs, and formulate a future roadmap for rural India. Under the leadership of Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, this will be a first-of-its-kind, large-scale ‘National Rural Development Conference,’ where the Centre and the states will jointly formulate a shared strategy for the development of villages. He stated that this conference is being organized with the aim of turning the vision of ‘Developed Village, Developed India’ into reality. This conference will focus on implementing the VB-GRAMG Act, 2025, strengthening Gram Panchayat planning, and reviewing key rural development schemes—such as PMAY-G, PMGSY, DAY-NRLM, rural skill development, and NSAP.

Focus on Best Practices and Thematic Sessions

This conference will feature sessions on key topics related to rural development and showcase successful state initiatives, with a focus on the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ initiative, rural entrepreneurship, women’s empowerment, skill development, and employment opportunities for rural youth.

Emphasis on Artificial Intelligence and Technology

This conference will emphasize the use of technology and AI in rural development and focus on digital platforms, real-time monitoring, transparency, accountability, and the rapid implementation of programs.

Strategic Roadmap for Rular Development

On the second day June 29 plenary sessions and ministerial-level discussions will be held at the conference to gather suggestions from the states and finalize the future action plan. The concluding session will present the key outcomes and highlight the role of villages in realizing the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’. The objective of this event is to forge new commitments and formulate a practical roadmap for inclusive rural development. (PIB)
